# Villa close to signing young Bulgarian keeper

According to[reports](https://www.sportal.bg/news.php?news=763617) coming out of Bulgaria, Aston Villa will soon add Bulgarian keeper Dimitar Sheytanov to their ranks.

The 19-year-old had a trial with Leeds during the summer, but, despite impressing during some under-23 matches, they never signed him as they refused to pay the fee that Levski Sofia wanted at the time.

However, that will not be an issue for Aston Villa as Sheytanov became a free agent at the start of the year, meaning that they should be able to acquire his services for next to little.

If the deal goes through, the youngster is likely to spend a number of seasons developing his skills in the under-23s squad as he is more one for the future.

Although, having said that, he is highly rated in Bulgaria, so he might find himself pushing for a place on the bench in the first team squad sooner rather than later.
