Speculation over the future of Jack Grealish is in full flow again as we head toward the end of the season.
Villa currently sit sixth in the table, but will have to end the season incredibly strongly to finish in the top six and secure a play-off place.
Reports are now claiming that if Villa fail to secure promotion, which would need them to finish in the top six and then win the play-offs, then they could offload Grealish in the summer to cover club costs.
Tottenham are said to be interested in Grealish, after missing out on a deal to sign him last summer.
Here are some possible replacements for Grealish if that scenario plays out…
Bradley Dack
Villa could use money from any potential Grealish sale to fund a deal to sign Dack from Blackburn – who has impressed in recent seasons.
Luke Freeman
The QPR midfielder has stood out in a fairly average side in the Championship this season and could be tempted by a move to Villa.
Todd Cantwell
Cantwell has fallen out of favour at Norwich and could be available for loan if the Canaries secure promotion to the top-flight this season.
Alex Pritchard
Huddersfield are set to be relegated from the Premier League and Villa could look to snatch Pritchard away from them.
Kieran Dowell
Currently on loan to Sheffield United from Everton, Villa could look to sign him on a temporary deal in the summer.
Angel Gomes
The Manchester United youngster has impressed at youth level and could be ready to make the step up to first-team football.
Phil Foden
Perhaps the most unlikely of targets on this list, but he would be a massive coup if Villa could bring him in on loan.
Kasey Palmer
Currently on loan to Bristol City from Chelsea, the talented midfielder is experienced at Championship level.
