Aston Villa made it six wins from six on Saturday afternoon thanks to a 3-1 win against Steve Bruce’s Sheffield Wednesday.
Bruce’s side were probably, if we are being perfectly honest, the better team in the second-half, but Smith’s men just had that bit of fortune that has so often neglected them this season.
This win has given Villa a three point cushion over Derby in 6th place, but The Rams still have a game in hand.
Next up for Smith’s men is an away trip to The New York Stadium on Wednesday evening to face Rotherham.
Many will think that this should be an easy win for Villa, but Rotherham are in a relegation battle and are fighting for their lives.
They beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 last time out, so Villa cannot afford to show any complacency at all.
Here is our predicted Villa XI for tomorrow’s game against Rotherham.
GK: Jed Steer
Has been solid in goal since taking over from Kalinic, and we expect to see him start once again.
RB: Ahmed Elmohamady
Had a poor game against Sheffield Wednesday, but will still start against Rotherham tomorrow.
CB: Tyrone Mings
Mings has been a rock for Villa since joining in January, and will certainly start tomorrow.
CB: Axel Tuanzebe
Hause went off injured against Sheffield Wednesday, so we expect to see Tuanzebe take his place.
LB: Neil Taylor
Has been playing a lot better as of late and will start at left-back tomorrow evening.
RM: Andre Green
Green had a quiet game against Sheffield Wednesday, but we still expect him to start tomorrow.
CM: Conor Hourihane
Whelan looked tired against Wednesday, so we reckon he will be given a rest and Hourihane will take his place.
CM: John McGinn
McGinn has been the buy of the season and it would be a huge surprise if he didn’t start.
CM: Jack Grealish
As captain and one of Villa’s best players, Grealish is one of the first names on Smith’s teamsheet.
LM: Anwar El Ghazi
Villa aren’t blessed in the winger department, so El Ghazi is likely to start once again.
ST: Tammy Abraham
Scored his 23rd goal of the season against Wednesday, and will certainly start tomorrow.
