Fair play: The greatest moments of sportsmanship in sports

When Leeds United scored in controversial fashion against Aston Villa, a massive brawl ensued. Villa’s players stopped playing due to an injury but Leeds continued to attack and scored. Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa then told his players to allow Villa to score, and although Pontus Jansson didn’t quite get the memo, Villa were able to put the ball into the back of the net to level the game at 1-1. The game was a ‘must-win’ for Leeds in their bid to earn promotion but even so, Bielsa did the sporting thing, which should be applauded and most observers have given him huge credit. In honour of his great gesture towards Villa, we’ve had a look at some other heart-warming moments of great sportsmanship from over the years.
