Aston Villa in 2018/19: End of season awards

Aston Villa are closing in on the end of the 2018/19 campaign, having already finished the regular Championship season.

Dean Smith’s side ended the campaign with a 2-1 defeat to Norwich at Villa Park last Sunday, with the visitors then lifting the title in front of the away fans after the match.

Villa finished fifth in the Championship table and will now face local rivals West Brom in the semi-finals of the play-offs, with the first leg coming this Saturday.

The club started the season with Steve Bruce in charge, but decided to make a change in October as they appointed Dean Smith from Brentford to lead their charge toward promotion.

Smith took over a troubled side and has brought the good times back to Villa Park in 2019.

We have decided to take a look back at the 2018/19 campaign and hand out our end of season awards for Aston Villa…
