The fixtures for the new Premier League season were released this morning, and it how great it must have been for supporters to see Aston Villa’s name in there once again.
As reported by the Daily Mail, It’s a tough start to the Premier League campaign as Dean Smith’s men will be making the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the opening day to face Spurs.
In the space of a week, Villa will be taking on back-to-back champions Manchester City in late October before hosting European champions Liverpool at the start of November. This will be a huge test of character for the Villa players during a tricky period of the season.
On Boxing Day, Aston Villa will be hosting fellow newly-promoted side Norwich City at Villa Park and it will certainly be interesting to see how both sides have adapted to the Premier League by this point.
Villa will end the season with a trip to the London Stadium, where they will be taking on West Ham. Supporters will be hoping the club are safe from relegation by this point, but that may not be the case.
With Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton and Arsenal among the teams in their last six fixtures of the season, Villa face a tough end to the campaign, that is for sure.
