Aston Villa have been busy in the transfer market over the last month as they look to piece together a squad capable of surviving in the Premier League next season.
Dean Smith led Villa to promotion from the Championship as his side beat Derby County 2-1 at Wembley in the play-off final last month – ending a three-year stay in the second tier following their relegation in 2016.
Villa have moved quickly to sign Anwar El Ghazi, Wesley, Jota and Kortney Hause so far, with Matt Targett reported to be on his way to the club from fellow Premier League side Southampton.
The club will surely add more strength to their squad before the window closes in August, and could look to the Championship to cherry pick some of the best players from the division.
