Winners and losers from Aston Villa’s deal for Heaton

Aston Villa are on the verge of bringing England international Tom Heaton in from Burnley this week.

According to John Percy, of the Telegraph, Villa have agreed an £8m fee with Burnley and Heaton is now set to join Dean Smith’s squad.

Heaton played 19 times in the Premier League for Burnley last season and ended the campaign in good form as he impressed between the sticks for Sean Dyche’s side.

The England international suffered an injury which kept him out for the majority of the 2017/18 season, playing just four games for Burnley that year – but has now worked his way back into Gareth Southgate’s squad.
