Aston Villa 2-2 Burnley: Villa Player Ratings

Aston Villa threw away two valuable points with a disappointing 2-2 draw against Burnley at Villa Park.

Villa were the better team in the first-half and Burnley couldn’t have had much room for complaints if they had gone in at the break more than a goal down.

Dean Smith’s men had a goal ruled out for offside (after a VAR check, of course), but the Villans took the lead not long after when Anwar El Ghazi steered the ball into the top corner after a great cross from Frederic Guilbert.

However, Villa, for some reason, were off the pace when they came back out after the break and the fans knew that it was only a matter of time before Burnley scored.

The equaliser came in the 68th minute when Jay Rodriguez headed home from six yards out.

Villa thought they had the game won when John McGinn, who was fantastic all game, rifled the ball home with 79 minutes on the clock. However, if there’s one thing that Villa do extremely well it is disappoint their fans, and they could only hold on to the lead for a mere ninety seconds.

Below are our Villa player ratings for today’s match against Burnley:
