Player Ratings: Norwich (A)

Aston Villa picked up a much needed three points on the road thanks to a 5-1 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The first half was played at a frenetic pace, with Villa taking the lead in the 14th minute when some dodgy defending meant that Wesley had ample time to chest the ball down in the box and stroke the ball past Michael McGovern in the Norwich goal.

Villa doubled their lead in the 30th minutes when Wesley stabbed the ball home from close range. He could have had his hat-trick before half-time, but McGovern pulled off a fine double save to deny him from the penalty spot.

The game was all but put to bed in the 49th minute when Jack Grealish found the bottom corner with a sweet strike. Two great strikes from Conor Hourihane in the 61st minute and Douglas Luiz in the 83rd rubbed salt into Norwich’s wounds.

Norwich got a consolation goal late on when Heaton lost Tyrone Mings’ back pass in the sun and Josip Drmic nipped in to slot the ball into an empty net.
