Former MIllwall goalkeeper Jordan Archer is training with Aston Villa, according to The Mail.
Archer is looking to rebuild his career after leaving Millwall at the end of last season, and is currently keeping fit by training at Bodymoor Heath.
Villa have a host of backup options at the club currently, with Jed Steer, Ojran Nyland and Lovre Kalinic at Villa.
However, one of them is likely to be sold in January, as Dean Smith looks to trim some of his squad after an expensive summer window.
REad ASton Villa’s verdict
It was certainly an expensive window for Villa, but the signing of Tom Heaton looks to have been a masterstroke.
Villa also have plenty of backup, so it is hard to see where Archer would fit, let alone play.
However, as shown with Norwich’s goalkeeping issues, you can never have enough goalies, so Archer may be a great buy if Villa are to sell one of their current crop.
