Villa fans react to Manchester City defeat

Aston Villa fell to their first Premier League defeat in three games after losing 3-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad.

The Villains played well in the first half but they couldn’t take their chances, and City made sure to make them pay for it in the second half.

Raheem Sterling scored immediately after the second half restart, with Gabriel Jesus flicking on a long ball from Ederson into the England international’s path.

City scored their second shortly after the hour mark, with VAR eventually awarding Kevin De Bruyne with the goal after a lengthy delay.

Ilkay Gundogan scored five minutes later to compound Aston Villa’s misery and put the game out of sight for the hosts.

Villa had late chances to score a consolation but nothing fell their way, despite Fernandinho receiving a second yellow card late on for bringing Keinan Davis.

Despite the result, many Aston Villa fans weren’t fazed by the scoreline, with it generally accepted that Villa always faced an uphill battle facing off against the Premier League title holders.

Several fans took to social media to react to the result.
