Villa fans not excited by Drinkwater’s arrival

Aston Villa have confirmed the loan signing of Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

The former Leicester City man joins until the end of the season in a bid to get his career back on track following his recent struggles at Chelsea and Burnley.

Drinkwater originally joined Burnley on loan over the summer but failed to break into Sean Dyche’s plans this season.

After the deal was finally announced by the club, these Aston Villa fans on social media gave their verdict on the signing and it’s fair to say, they weren’t exactly enthralled.

In their current situation, the very least Villa fans can ask for is a signing that looks just a little bit happy to be there.

All jokes aside, while Drinkwater is an experienced midfielder who could add a lot of value to the Villa squad, it’s not the signing that some supporters have been calling out for.

With the club so desperate for a new goalkeeper and striker, you can understand their frustrations when the club announces the signing of Drinkwater, someone who has played less than an hour of Premier League football this season.
