Villa fans react to team news ahead of Manchester City clash

Aston Villa host Manchester City in the Premier League today as they look to move out of the bottom three.

Watford’s 2-0 win over Bournemouth has sent Villa back into the bottom two and now they face a Man City side looking to close the gap on Liverpool at the top of the table.

Dean Smith has named his side for the game, with Danny Drinkwater starting to make his debut.

READ ASTON VILLA VERDICT

Whilst Manchester City are still a brilliant side, they have shown this season that they are capable of being beaten. Pep Guardiola’s side have lost five games in the league, including away to Norwich – who are currently 20th. This shows that Villa do have a chance of picking up a result if they can play to their absolute maximum throughout the 90 minutes.

The likes of Jack Grealish and Tyrone Mings could have a great opportunity to put their names in Gareth Southgate’s thoughts ahead of the next international break. If they can catch the eye against a side as good as Manchester City, it could put them in good stead with the England boss.

matchday.
