# Spurs fans gutted to hear Lo Celso and Lamela missed training

Tottenham Hotspur duo Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso missed the team’s training session on Wednesday, according to a report on the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-training-ben-davies-giovani-lo-celso-erik-lamela-a4360861.html).

Both players have been nursing minor muscular injuries recently and many Spurs fans are upset and concerned about the news.

Lamela and Lo Celso both [played a part](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51253149)in helping Jose Mourinho’s men overcome the defending league champions Manchester City in their last top-flight match.

Dean Smith’s men are currently in a relegation battle whilst Mourinho’s side are pushing for a top-four spot, meaning Sunday’s clash at Villa Park could have an impact on[both ends of the table.](https://www.premierleague.com/tables)

Spurs recently confirmed the[permanent signing of Lo Celso](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51277630) and he has been impressive on many occasions this season – especially against City where he had [85.2% pass accuracy](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1376145/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Tottenham-Manchester-City), the second highest of any Spurs player that started that day.
