# Villa fans heap praise on Reina after display against Spurs

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina was in sparkling form for Aston Villa against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The visitors ended up [winning the match 3-2](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51431287)after Heung-Min Son’s stoppage-time winner, but the game would have been finished a lot earlier if it wasn’t for the heroics of Reina.

The Spaniard made[multiple saves](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1229069363329847296) to keep Villa in the match on several occasions and even saved Son’s penalty in the first half, only for the South Korean to tap in the rebound.

After the[season-ending injury](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50978289) to Englishman Tom Heaton, Dean Smith[turned to Reina](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51092029), signing him on a loan deal from Italian side AC Milan until the end of the season.

As stated on the [official Premier League website](https://www.premierleague.com/players/2911/Pepe-Reina/stats?co=1&se=274), the goalkeeper has made four appearances in the top-flight this season, making 13 saves and no errors that have led to goals.

Many Villa fans [took to Twitter](https://twitter.com/PReina25/status/1229116393926340613) to praise the 37-year-old former Liverpool shot-stopper for his impressive display.
