Villa keeping an eye on Sturridge’s situation at Trabzonspor
Aston Villa are keeping a close eye on the situation of former Liverpool forward Daniel Sturridge, according to a report on Fotospor.
The Turkish news outlet claims that Sturridge’s time at Trabzonspor could be cut short this summer with the club contemplating offloading him after just one season.
As stated in the report, Sturridge has fallen out of favour with the club’s manager Huseyin Cimsir over injury issues and alleged attitude problems.
The Englishman joined the Super Lig side on a three-year deal last August.

Vill recently signed striker Mbwana Samatta but also lost two forwards. Wesley Moraes suffered a season-ending injury and Jonathan Kodjia moved to Qatar, leaving Dean Smith short of attacking options.
We believe that if the opportunity to sign Sturridge arrives, then Villa should take it, simply because of his goalscoring record in England. The former Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool attacker has scored 76 times in the Premier League, proving that he could be the perfect partner for Samatta, who has limited top-flight experience.
Furthermore, 30-year-old Sturridge has plenty of experience under his belt. The forward has played 26 times for England, meaning he could be a great option to pass on knowledge about the English game to Samatta.
However, we feel that much depends on whether Villa can retain their Premier League status, as a player like Sturridge may not want to drop into the second-tier of English football.
