There have been few moments of celebration for Aston Villa this season, with Dean Smith’s side battling to avoid relegation back to the Championship.

Whilst getting to the League Cup final was an undoubted achievement, perhaps the best afternoon for Villa this season came when they thumped Norwich 5-1 earlier in the Premier League campaign.

Villa were brilliant at Carrow Road, dominating for large spells and they were unusually clinical in front of goal.

Wesley scored twice, Jack Grealish got on the scoresheet and Douglas Luiz grabbed the fifth, however the standout moment from the game was Conor Hourihane’s powerful left-footed strike from outside the box that made it 4-0.

And, Villa recognised that effort today, with the club’s official Twitter account sharing it as their Goal of the Day.

As you would expect, it brought plenty of responses from the fans, who enjoyed looking back at what was a great afternoon for the team.
