# These Aston Villa fans look back on memorable Robbie Keane strike

Ireland legend Robbie Keane enjoyed a brilliant career, featuring for the likes of Inter Milan, Tottenham and Liverpool among others.

He will also be remembered by Aston Villa fans for a very successful loan spell that came towards the end of the 2011/12 season.

In six games, the classy forward scored three goals and helped Villa to some good results but there’s game in particular that Villa fans will never forget – a 3-2 win at local rivals Wolves.

Alex McLeish’s men were trailing 2-1 at Molineux at half-time and were outplayed, however, they improved after the break, with Keane the inspiration.

He equalised early into the second half with a clever finish and then secured the points against his former club with a thunderous shot from outside the box – that was [named as Villa’s Goal of the Day on Twitter on Thursday](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial/status/1248175568824090624).
