# Aston Villa fans react to transfer links with Fabio Baptista

Some Aston Villa fans have reacted to a transfer report linking “special” Benfica talent Fabio Baptista with a move to the club.

The 19-year-old Benfica B winger is one of European football’s rapidly developing players and Villa are now said to be interested, along with the likes of Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Serie A side Atalanta.

[Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.it/2020/11/11/calciomercato-atalanta-esclusivo-fabio-baptista-benfica/) claimed that Baptista is viewed as a ‘great prospect’ by the latter but Villa and Palace are pushing for the Portuguese starlet’s signature.

Baptista, who is naturally a winger but [can play at right-back](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-baptista/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/697714), is [yet to feature for Benfica’s senior side](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-baptista/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/697714) but has made an impression for their second team. The youngster is valued at a lowly £135,000 by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-baptista/profil/spieler/697714), leaving his current valuation from the Lisbon club unknown.

Reacting to a tweet of the news shared by Birmingham Live, plenty of Villa fans reacted and we have picked out some of the best responses below as many cheekily alluded to Midlands rivals Wolves’ [penchant for Portuguese players](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wolverhampton-wanderers/startseite/verein/543):
