# Fans react to Ian Wright comments on Matty Cash

Many Aston Villa fans have reacted to comments made by [prolific former Premier League striker](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goals?se=363) Ian Wright over the passion and quality shown by Matty Cash this season.

Arriving at Villa Park this summer from Nottingham Forest, Cash has enjoyed a strong start at his current club. The [£10.8m-rated](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/matty-cash/profil/spieler/425334) defender has featured in all of Villa’s seven Premier League games this term so far, gaining himself an average match rating of 7.22 out of 10 by [WhoScored.com.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/322043/Show/Matthew-Cash)

Such performances have helped Villa start the season well, with Dean Smith’s side sixth in the Premier League table. A 3-0 win over Arsenal before the international break saw Villa make it five wins out of seven, which also included a 7-2 thrashing champions Liverpool.
