# Aston Villa fans clamour for new deals for Ezri Konsa and Douglas Luiz

Dean Smith [recently confirmed](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-transfers-douglas-luiz-19465776) that Aston Villa are considering giving new deals to [Ezri Konsa and Douglas Luiz](https://readastonvilla.com/2020/12/17/dean-smith-outlines-contract-intentions-for-ezri-konsa-and-douglas-luiz/) as a reward for their fine form this season and many supporters are delighted with the news.

Konsa and Luiz [both joined Villa in the summer of 2019](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/alletransfers/verein/405) from Brentford and Manchester City respectively and have [two-and-a-half years remaining](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/kader/verein/405/saison_id/2020/plus/1) on their respective deals, but an improved contract could mean a pay rise and longer terms.

The Villans have [tied down](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aston-villa/berateruebersicht/verein/405/plus/1) four first-team players to long-term deals since September – [Jack Grealish](https://theathletic.com/news/grealish-villa-united-contract-transfer/9XrPyQo5Nbl9#:~:text=Aston%20Villa%20captain%20Jack%20Grealish,over%20the%20last%20few%20months.) (four years), [Keinan Davis](https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/54255023#:~:text=Aston%20Villa%20forward%20Keinan%20Davis,after%20joining%20from%20Biggleswade%20Town.) (four years) and last week [John McGinn](https://www.skysports.com/app/transfer/news/12691/12158415/john-mcginn-aston-villa-midfielder-signs-new-deal-running-until-2025#:~:text=Scotland%20international%20midfielder%20John%20McGinn,appearances%20for%20the%20midlands%20club.) (five-year deal on December 11) – so they’ve ensured that no top talent will leave unless it is on their terms.

[Konsa has impressed](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/24/Show/England-Aston-Villa) alongside Tyrone Mings at centre-back this season and [Luiz has stood out](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/24/Show/England-Aston-Villa) alongside John McGinn and Ross Barkley in midfield, so these Villa fans unsurprisingly want the pair to stay for as long as possible.
