# Frederic Guilbert watches new movie and posts training snap

Frederic Guilbert is fighting for a starting place at Aston Villa this season but has Matty Cash standing in his way, so he’ll have to work hard in training to stand out.

The 26-year-old is very busy grafting at Bodymoor Heath if his [Instagram story](https://www.instagram.com/stories/fredguilbert02/2630928000000173329/) is anything to go by, but he also had time to watch new movie Space Jam on his laptop during his down time.

Guilbert [joined](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/frederic-guilbert/transfers/spieler/354352) Villa from SM Caen in January 2019 and has gone on to make [31 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/frederic-guilbert/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/354352) in all competitions, scoring two goals with two assists.

The uncapped Frenchman lost his place at right-back to Cash and Ahmed Elmohamady last season, so he was loaned out to Racing Strasbourg for first-team football.

Guilbert has a chance to stake a claim for more opportunities and is regular posting on his [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/fredguilbert02/) to show supporters that he’s fired up for the 2021/22 campaign, but it’s more likely that he remains Cash’s understudy.

The 23-year-old hasn’t put a foot wrong since being brought in from Nottingham Forest, so Dean Smith isn’t going to drop him.
