# Grealish trends as Villa exit looms and Man City close in on £100m deal

Jack Grealish’s future has been talked about to death this summer, but the saga may be coming to an end. *David Ornstein*, *Sam Lee* and *Gregg Evans* of [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/news/jack-grealish-transfer-man-city-aston-villa/mNpZh59DIar2) say the 25-year-old is on the verge of completing a £100m move to Manchester City after weeks of discussions.

It will be a British record transfer fee and may land Grealish an incredible payrise, so the England international is unsurprisingly trending on [social media](https://twitter.com/search?q=Grealish&src=trend_click&pt=1422855251204493313&vertical=trends) once more. Aston Villa were trying to tie Grealish down to a new contract, but it appears their efforts have failed.

Grealish now has to agree personal terms with City before undergoing a medical. Then his arrival will be officially confirmed by the Sky Blues. It will be their second senior squad signing of the summer after Scott Carson [returned](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9807503/Scott-Carson-signs-Manchester-City-one-year-deal-veterans-contract-Derby-expired.html) from Derby County.

Grealish is one of the best playmakers in Europe and would tick City’s homegrown quota, so he’s worth every penny to them. The 25-year-old had a hand in 18 goals from [26 Premier League games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jack-grealish/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/203460) last season, so he’s ruthless in the final third and just want Guardiola wants.
