# Tyrone Mings shows off away kit and posts on social media after announcement

Tyrone Mings recently showed off Aston Villa’s away kit on social media and posted on his [Instagram story](https://www.instagram.com/stories/tyronemings/2641763738377617585/) after being announced as the new club captain. It was no surprise the 28-year-old was chosen to lead Villa this season, but it’s a big moment for Mings.

The England international has seen his career go from strength to strength since he [joined](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrone-mings/transfers/spieler/253677) Villa from Bournemouth in July 2019, silencing any critics who felt his £20m asking price was lofty. Mings initially joined on loan in January 2019 and turned the move permanent months later.

He’s gone on to make [92 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tyrone-mings/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/253677) in all competitions for the Midlands outfit, scoring six goals with four assists. The 28-year-old has become one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League and featured for England in the 2020 European Championships as his reward.

**Summary**

Mings has finally realised his potential at Villa after suffering injuries at Ipswich Town and Bournemouth. He was tipped for greatness as a youngster but had to endure a lot of setbacks before finally proving his worth in the top-flight.

Mings is now Villa’s captain and England’s third-best centre-back, so his career is going in the right direction.
