# Bertrand Traore on international duty after lamenting Tottenham defeat

Bertrand Traore made a brief appearance from the bench in Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and posted about the loss on his [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/p/CUm4HqroPFY/) account.

The 26-year-old said he was disappointed with the result and felt Villa could have done better in North London. He also vowed to improve when Wolverhampton Wanderers come to Villa Park after the international break.

Traore will now join up with the Burkina Faso national team ahead of their World Cup qualifier [double-header](https://uk.soccerway.com/teams/burkina-faso/burkina-faso/383/) with Djibouti. The former Olympique Lyonnais forward hasn’t played a lot of football for Villa this season but could get significant minutes on international duty.

Traore has made [five appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bertrand-traore/leistungsdaten/spieler/131996) in all competitions for the Villans, amassing only 117 minutes of football.
