# Fans on social media say ‘brilliant’ Emi Buendia is a ‘fantastic’ player

Aston Villa enjoyed a 1-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon and Emi Buendia was one of many players praised for his performance. The 25-year-old scored the winning goal on Merseyside and was given a player rating of 8/10 by [Birmingham Live](https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/aston-villa-player-ratings-everton-22840628) for his performance.

No player had more shots on target or blocked more shots, while only player made more tackles and had more successful dribbles, so it’s not a surprise that fans on [social media](https://twitter.com/search?q=buendia&src=typed_query&f=live) showered the Argentine in praise. He was criticised earlier in the campaign but is finally looking like a [£38m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12321904/aston-villa-sign-emiliano-buendia-on-five-year-deal-for-club-record-transfer-fee) player.

> Watched the game back earlier. Emi Buendia is just a brilliant footballer. He needed time to settle in, and for us to play to his strengths. Now he's putting in performances that warrant his fee. Him and Ramsey together is 🔥🔥

> Buendia is a fantastic football. I don’t think Watkins is used to player who wants to release the ball so quickly yet.

> Buendia since the turn of the year has been absolutely different class. Gerrard has put him where he needs to be and he is delivering so consistently. Some stunning performances, and now a lovely header to cap off another brilliant 45 minutes. Wonderful footballer.
