# How much profit Villa could make if Davis is sold to Forest

Keinan Davis doesn’t know whether he’s staying at Aston Villa or leaving this summer after his [hopes of a move to Nottingham Forest were dashed](https://readastonvilla.com/2022/06/25/whats-the-latest-on-keinan-davis-future/). The 24-year-old impressed on loan for the Reds last season and helped them earn promotion to the Premier League, but he didn’t do enough to warrant a permanent deal.

Forest opted to sign striker Taiwo Awoniyi from Union Berlin for a club-record fee, so the door seemingly closed on a move to the City Ground. But *John Percy* of the [Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2022/07/12/nottingham-forest-make-lewis-obrien-seventh-summer-signing/) suggests Forest may still be keen to sign Davis, so Gerrard could make up to [£15m](https://readastonvilla.com/2022/07/03/gabriel-agbonlahor-says-keinan-davis-could-still-join-nottingham-forest/) for a player that Villa [signed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/keinan-davis/transfers/spieler/412660) on a free transfer in 2015.

The Midlands outfit initially paid Davis [£5k-per-week/£0.3m-a-year](https://www.capology.com/club/aston-villa/salaries/2017-2018/) upon his arrival from Biggleswade Town before paying him [£45k-per-week/£2.3m-a-year](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/aston-villa-fc/keinan-davis-32769/) after he signed a [new deal in 2020](https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2020/september/Davis-signs-new-contract/). In total, Villa have spent £5.9m on Davis’ wages, so a £15m sale to Forest would land them £9.1m profit.

Villa have developed the uncapped Englishman for seven years, resulting in Davis scoring 10 goals with nine assists from [36 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/keinan-davis/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/412660) for the U23s and scoring six goals with seven assists from 86 games for the first-team. A move away suits all parties this summer and £9.1m profit would be great business by Villa.
