# PSG handed bizarre UEFA concession hours before Aston Villa showdown

**Paris Saint-Germain have been handed an additional dressing room just hours before facing Aston Villa in tonight’s UEFA Super Cup final in Salzburg.**

PSG were unhappy with the away dressing room allocated to them at Stadion Salzburg because it is smaller than the home facilities Aston Villa will use.

UEFA have now responded by providing the Champions League holders with an additional room ahead of the 8pm BST kick-off, according to [Reuters](https://www.reuters.com/sports/soccer/psg-boss-luis-enrique-does-not-expect-top-level-super-cup-game-due-lack-2026-08-11/).

## Aston Villa vs PSG build-up takes unusual turn

PSG’s complaint adds another unusual detail to preparations for the first European final of the season.

Luis Enrique’s side already arrive in Austria following a disrupted build-up after 15 members of their squad featured at the World Cup. Several internationals only returned to training shortly before tonight’s game.

Enrique has admitted he does not expect PSG to be at their highest level because of those fitness problems, something that could offer Unai Emery’s side encouragement.

Villa have experienced preparation issues of their own. ReadAstonVilla reported earlier today that [Emery has admitted his side will not be at their best against PSG](https://readastonvilla.com/2026/08/12/unai-emery-makes-blunt-aston-villa-admission-hours-before-psg-final/), with several players returning late following the World Cup.

Tonight’s game will be played at Stadion Salzburg, with Villa looking to win the Super Cup for the second time in their history.

Their only previous appearance came in 1982, when the European champions defeated Barcelona over two legs. PSG are also targeting a second Super Cup after winning last year’s edition on penalties against Tottenham.

A relatively minor dressing-room issue will have little bearing once the game begins, but it provides another sign that preparations for tonight’s final have been far from routine for PSG.
