# Aston Villa identify Tomori and Tosin before £50m Konsa medical

**Aston Villa have added Fikayo Tomori to their shortlist of potential Ezri Konsa replacements as Unai Emery prepares to lose the England defender to Arsenal.**

Villa had already identified Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo as one option, but a fresh report has now revealed that AC Milan defender Tomori is also under consideration.

[talkSPORT reports](https://talksport.com/football/4524810/aston-villa-transfer-tosin-konsa-tomori/) that Villa have placed both players on their list as they look to restore their defensive options following Konsa’s impending departure.

## Aston Villa add Fikayo Tomori to Konsa replacement list

Konsa is moving closer to becoming an Arsenal player after the clubs reached an agreement worth around £50million.

[Read Aston Villa reported on Wednesday that the deal had been agreed](https://readastonvilla.com/2026/08/19/aston-villa-agree-50m-ezri-konsa-sale-to-arsenal/), with the 28-year-old also agreeing a long-term contract with Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Times reports that Konsa is due to undergo his medical on Thursday, placing Villa under increasing pressure to find a replacement before their Premier League campaign begins against Brighton on Sunday.

Tomori now provides Emery with another potential route.

The six-cap England international has been made available for transfer by Milan as he enters the final year of his contract. He started 31 Serie A matches last season and has accumulated significant Champions League and Serie A experience since leaving Chelsea.

Villa were already known to be considering Tosin.

Neither player has yet been the subject of a reported Villa bid.

However, identifying a second experienced centre-back is significant given the scale of the hole Konsa leaves behind.

[Our analysis showed Villa’s Premier League win percentage has fallen from 45% with Konsa to just 28.1% without him](https://readastonvilla.com/2026/08/19/aston-villa-face-bigger-ezri-konsa-blow-than-arsenal-deal-suggests/).

With his medical now approaching, Villa’s search for the defender tasked with replacing him is beginning to take shape.
