Aston Villa Women complete their pre-season preparations against West Ham United on Sunday as Natalia Arroyo gets one final opportunity to assess her rebuilt squad before the new WSL campaign begins.
The friendly takes place at Keys Park Stadium on Sunday 30 August, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm BST. West Ham have confirmed the fixture and ticket information ahead of the trip to Staffordshire.
Villa enter the game after a demanding summer programme which has included meetings with Paris FC and European heavyweights OL Lyonnes.
ReadAstonVilla covered Villa’s encouraging display despite a 3-1 defeat to Lyon as Arroyo continued integrating a significantly reshaped squad.
Aston Villa Women v West Ham kick-off time and venue
The fixture will be played at Keys Park Stadium, home of Hednesford Town.
Date: Sunday 30 August 2026
Kick-off: 2pm BST
Venue: Keys Park Stadium
West Ham describe the game as a pre-season match, with the fixture serving as Villa’s final preparation before competitive action begins.
The timing makes it a useful final examination for Arroyo.
Villa have made major changes during the summer and will open their Women’s Super League season against champions Chelsea in September.
Their new-look squad has already shown encouraging signs, but ReadAstonVilla recently examined the attacking production Villa must replace after their summer rebuild.
Sunday provides one final chance to find solutions before the points begin to matter.
Aston Villa Women v West Ham ticket prices
Tickets remain available for supporters wanting to attend the game.
West Ham’s official ticket information lists the following prices:
- Adults: £5
- Under-26s: £3
- Under-18s: £1
Supporters under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
West Ham say tickets purchased in advance will be supplied in PDF format. Accessible tickets are available at the same age-band prices, with a free personal assistant ticket where required.
Final Aston Villa test before Chelsea opener
The result itself will not define Villa’s summer.
The greater value comes from another 90 minutes for Arroyo to refine her side before a difficult start to the WSL season.
Villa’s rebuild has included several new arrivals, with six summer signings already transforming the squad ahead of the Chelsea opener.
West Ham therefore provide the final rehearsal before the focus switches completely to competitive football.
For Arroyo, Sunday is the last opportunity to experiment.
After that, the new Aston Villa Women project gets its first proper test.
