# Aston Villa open talks over Oguz Aydin as Alejandro Garnacho faces uncertain future

Aston Villa are rumoured to have had talks with Fenerbahce regarding winger Oguz Aydin, casting doubt on Alejandro Garnacho’s long-term future at Villa Park.

Villa have sent scouting parties to the Turkish side to watch Aydin play as they spoke to the Istanbul club and his agent regarding a potential move, according to a report by Sport Witness.

The Premier League outfit may make an offer for the winger in the January transfer window. However, there is currently no information on any fee that may come into play but it remains unknown where Fenerbahce stand on letting the winger leave.

It would provide Unai Emery with another attacking option, as he already has a wealth of attacking talent in his squad.

## **Garnacho faces competition at Aston Villa**

Garnacho moved to Aston Villa on a loan deal with an obligation to buy from Chelsea. However, the Argentinian has struggled to get into the team regularly.

While Emery has suggested Garnacho is adapting well to the tactics used in his system, the reported 42 million pound price could put pressure on the winger to make an impact.

The 22-year-old will have to fight for a starting spot in a very competitive attacking department. John McGinn and Emi Buendia both played regularly alongside Morgan Rogers last season.

There is also Johan Manzambi in the long-term plan for the club. Villa also signed Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer. Alysson has impressed recently. In addition, George Hemmings has been very versatile after moving from central midfield to play in all three attacking roles this season. This means that Garnacho will have to fight for a starting spot.

## **Aston Villa send representatives to watch Fenerbahce winger**

There have been reports coming out of Turkey that Villa are now taking an active interest in Aydin.

Sport Witness report that club officials visited Monday’s Istanbul derby between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. The visitors ran out 2-1 winners thanks to two strikes from Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen.

Villa have sent a delegation to watch Aydin play ahead of talks with Fenerbahce officials.

They may make an offer for Aydin in January, but there is no word on how much he is valued at or if Fenerbahçe will be willing to sell.

Aydin would give Emery more competition for attacking spots at Villa Park.

Villa are also due to face Galatasaray at the same stadium in the Champions League league phase in less than a month.

## **Would Villa move for another winger in January?**

Despite the reports, Villa would be adding to an already busy attacking squad by bringing in another striker.

With Garnacho, aged 22, the oldest of the trio competing for wide attacking spots with McGinn and Buendia, Villa must also take into account the future of their younger players such as Alysson, Hemmings and Mbaye.

FourFourTwo has noted that it seems unlikely Villa will bring in another winger in January due to the current options they have and wanting to give younger players an opportunity.

However, reports of talks with Fenerbahçe show Villa have at least considered bringing Aydin in.

The next few months will be crucial for Garnacho to get a bigger role within the team under Emery. However, competition is already fierce, and there is more transfer speculation, meaning his future at Villa Park is up in the air.

There is no confirmation by Villa that Aydin will move. Any January move is purely speculation.
