# Marco Bizot Aston Villa: Marco Bizot Error Draws Criticism After Aston Villa’s Carabao Cup Exit

Marco Bizot Aston Villa had a frustrating evening as Aston Villa were knocked out of the Carabao Cup with a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth.

The goalkeeper was heavily criticised for his mistake that led to Lewis Cook scoring in the second half, putting Villa on the back foot at the Vitality Stadium. Sky Sports’ Sam Parkin said it was a “very poor attempt” by the goalkeeper who failed to keep the cross out.

Unai Emery made nine changes to the side that beat Manchester City 2-1 in the Premier League at the weekend. Bizot came into the starting line-up with regular number one Zion Suzuki rested, but his mistake proved costly as Villa’s cup campaign came to an end.

Amine Adli put Bournemouth ahead in the seventh minute. Cook extended their lead in the sixth minute of the second half before Alvaro Rodriguez netted a third goal in the 69th minute to seal a comfortable victory for the hosts.

## **Parkin Criticises Costly Bizot Mistake**

Bizot had made several saves before his error handed Bournemouth a two-goal lead.

Cook played well with Ben Gannon-Doak and fired the ball in towards the goal. Bizot was unable to stop the ball finding its way into the net, leaving Villa with an uphill battle to get back in the game.

Parkin did not hold back in his assessment of the goalkeeper’s attempt.

“You can’t be beaten from here, from a delivery that is caressed in,” he said during Sky Sports Plus commentary.

“The goalkeeper’s not going to want to see that again; it’s a poor, poor attempt.”

That criticism summed up a pivotal moment in the game for Villa who failed to get off to a good start in the second half and conceded to fall behind again. They struggled to get back into the game before Rodriguez put the Cherries through.

## **Marco Bizot Aston Villa Saves Overshadowed by Error**

Despite some positives, the 35-year-old had a poor game. He did manage to save four shots from inside the box, punch three and make one high save.

However, the error will be a major talking point. He also has a lot to work on with his passing, having a 72% accuracy rate.

Despite losing, it does make you wonder how much of an opportunity he had to get into the game while Suzuki was resting. However, it does not take away from how well the Japanese international has done after his performance against Manchester City.

Suzuki helped Villa secure that 2-1 victory, and Bizot was unable to make the same impact in Wednesday’s cup tie.

## **Aston Villa Must Refocus After Cup Disappointment**

Villa arrived at the Vitality Stadium after four consecutive victories, but their winning run ended against a Bournemouth side that took its chances.

The defeat also marked Villa’s first loss in eight matches across all competitions.

Emery’s decision to rotate his squad offered several players an opportunity to feature, but the result ended any hopes of progressing to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

Villa must now turn their attention back to their remaining competitions. For Bizot, the immediate focus will be on putting a difficult performance behind him, with his costly error likely to remain the main talking point from Villa’s cup exit.
