Danny Ings could have been on his way out of Aston Villa this summer when Steven Gerrard was on the hunt for another striker, but no acceptable offers came the 30-year-old’s way and no upgrade was procure in the transfer market, so Ings looks set to stay. Transfer expert Dean Jones says it’s not a […]
Steven Gerrard wanted to sign Conor Gallagher this summer as he feels Aston Villa are missing an all-round midfielder who can turn over possession and create chances at the other end, but it’s unlikely they’ll bring him to the Midlands as Chelsea are keeping him at Stamford Bridge after last season’s impressive loan at Crystal […]
Steven Gerrard was recently full of praise for Leon Bailey, claiming the 24-year-old has been a ‘different player’ in pre-season and is staking a claim to be a regular starter this coming campaign, but his ‘energy, speed and hunger’ mean nothing if he’s spending extended periods on the sidelines. Gerrard said after Aston Villa’s […]
Carney Chukwuemeka could be on his way out of Aston Villa as his contract is up in 2023 and he’s refusing to sign a new deal unless his demands are met. Football Insider said days ago that the 18-year-old is requesting up to £100k-per-week, so Matt Maher of the Express and Star believes Steven Gerrard […]
Kortney Hause made just nine appearances in all competitions last season and now has extra competition for a starting place after Diego Carlos was signed over the summer, so the 27-year-old is likely to struggle for playing time. Steven Gerrard preferred Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and Calum Chambers ahead of Hause in 2021/22, so he […]
Aaron Ramsey has an uncertain future at Aston Villa this summer as he’s on the fringes of the first-team but may not get opportunities under Steven Gerrard when the new season starts due to stiff competition for places. The 19-year-old was left out of the matchday squad for Villa’s 4-0 win over Walsall on July […]
Steven Gerrard isn’t short of strikers in the first-team ahead of next season (Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings, Cameron Archer, Keinan Davis), but Archer and Davis have uncertain futures this summer. Archer could be loaned out to a Championship club while Davis has interest from a newly-promoted Premier League side, so Gerrard would need another centre-forward. […]
Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Conor Gallagher as Steven Gerrard is desperate for an all-round central midfielder as a long-term replacement for Douglas Luiz. The 24-year-old is out of contract in 2023 and isn’t close to signing a new deal, so a successor is needed to allow Villa to cash in […]
Carney Chukwuemeka looks on his way out of Aston Villa this summer as he’s out of contract in 2023 and won’t put pen to paper to an extension. The 18-year-old made 15 appearances last season but amassed only 415 minutes of playing time across the board. Chukwuemeka finds himself behind John McGinn, Marvelous Nakamba and […]
Ezri Konsa has been sidelined with a knee injury since May and was expected to miss the start of next season, but Steven Gerrard has given a positive update on the 24-year-old, revealing he’s recovered two months early and will be available for selection for their upcoming pre-season friendly. Gerrard said via Birmingham Live: “He’s […]
Jaden Philogene-Bidace had a lot to prove this summer after a disappointing loan at Stoke City last season, but the 20-year-old has now missed both of Aston Villa’s pre-season friendlies. He failed to make the matchday squad for Villa’s 4-0 win over Walsall on July 9, failed to make the matchday squad for their 1-0 […]
Keinan Davis doesn’t know whether he’s staying at Aston Villa or leaving this summer after his hopes of a move to Nottingham Forest were dashed. The 24-year-old impressed on loan for the Reds last season and helped them earn promotion to the Premier League, but he didn’t do enough to warrant a permanent deal. Forest […]
