Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar has attracted the interest of Besiktas with his contract coming to an end at Aston Villa according to ClubCall.
The Dutch defender has spoken of his desire for bigger and better things than Aston Villa after being offered a new deal by Aston Villa, but it is widely regarded that Vlaar will seek to go elsewhere in a search for some European football.
Besiktas have been interested in Vlaar after his performances for Holland at the World Cup, despite his barron injury record.
Concrete Ron nicknamed by the Feyenoord fans before he joined Villa, has become somewhat of a joke to Villa fans now – after having lengthy spells out with injury.
Vlaar has played 84 games in all competitions for Villa, scoring 2 goals – most notably in the 6-1 thrashing of Sunderland. Vlaar only appeared 19 times this season due to injury – his presence has always been notable when playing, evidently being Villa best center-back.
