Aston Villa are understood to be preparing to launch a £3m pursuit for Serie B striker Felipe Avenatti according to TalkSport
The 22 year old has scored 10 goals for the Italian side Ternana and has also appeared 5 times for Urguayan u20’s – scoring the once.
It is thought the 6,5ft striker will be brought in to add extra cover to Benteke, especially with the likes of Weimann and Bent leaving to Derby County and Libor Kozak having injury problems of his own.
But a deal won’t be easy for Tim Sherwood as there is also interest from Leeds United of the Championship and relegated Serie A side Cagliari.
Prizing away the target man won’t be a the difficulty though, as Italian publication Giornale Dell’Umbria reports that Ternana want to cash in on their man to help improve the clubs finances.
Avenatti started his career at River Plate, scoring 12 in 33 for the team.
