It is understood that Aston Villa are surprise front runners for Premier League keeper Asmir Begovic according to The Sentinel.
It is understood that Begovic is keen on Villa due to having a starting place at B6, whereas other interested party Chelsea, only see the Bosnian as backup for Courtois.
Begovic, is still relatively young in goalkeeping years at only 28 would be a great acquisition for Sherwood and Villa and would be a vast improvement on Guzan, despite both being Premier League quality keepers.
He also represents Bosnia and Herzegovina at international level, appearing 41 times for the nation and appeared in last years World Cup.
despite only managing 7 clean sheets last season, 2 less than Brad Guzan in the same season – it is without a doubt that Begovic is a quality keeper and would be a huge improvement.
With one year left on Begovic’s contract it seems Stoke are interested in selling up to avoid losing out on any possible income from the player.
