Aston Villa’s new kit will be revealed on 7th July to the press at Villa Park at a private event. Much talk has happened between Villa fans over what the new kit will look like.
The kits will feature Villa’s new sponsor, Intuit QuickBooks, who signed a 2-year deal with the club at the start of June. Intuit were previously sponsors of local rivals, West Bromwich Albion.
Over the last few years, fans have become frustrated with the kits produced by the Italian manufacturer, Macron. This will be Macron’s final year with Villa as the three-year deal comes to an end. Here is a leaked image of the potential kits from www.footballshirts.com.
The home kit is inspired by the 1981/1982 European winning cup side with a smart collar with a darker claret in a small hoop style going across the shirt. The sleeves also feature a claret accent.
The away kit is inspired supposedly by the 1969-1974 kit. But yellow Villa kits do not bring back good memories for the fans with the club struggling in a similar kit back in the 2005/06 season when Hummel was the sponsor. There has also been a mixed reaction on Twitter over the potential away kit.
