Aston Villa have today been linked with Swiss international, Breel Embolo.
Embolo is only 18-years old but has already established himself in the Swiss national side being capped three times. The Basel forward hit 17 goals and provided for 13 goals in 42 appearances last season including in the Champions League.
It is believed Embolo is rated at £10-million by Basel and Villa see the youngster as the perfect replacement for Christian Benteke – who looks set to leave the Midlands side. Embolo would suit Villa perfectly with a similar style of play to Benteke.
Villa are expected to act fast if Benteke is to leave with a number of targets already in sight for manager, Tim Sherwood.
Sherwood And Kane
It has become boring to talk about how Sherwood was the person that grew Kane into the player everyone saw last season, but the signing of Embolo would again illustrate the confidence the Villa manager has in using youth. He has already shown that confidence with the introduction of Rushian Hepburn-Murphy and Riccardo Calder to the Villa first-team. And the flourishing of Jack Grealish under the ex-Blackburn midfielder.
