Gordon Cowans will lead Aston Villa u21’s into action for the 2015-16 season once again as they start the new Professional Development League campaign hosting Stoke City on August 17.
Cowan’s hopes that future first-team prospects such as England U17 international, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy can fire the u21 squad back into Division One.
Other prospects to look out for are winger Jerell Sellars; Birmingham born utility player, Riccardo Calder and defender Lewis Kinsella, who will all be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Nathan Baker and Jack Grealish by breaking into the senior side.
The Villain’s have moved from last years home at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton to the Banks’s stadium in Walsall; as well as the pick of the fixtures being played at Villa Park.
Villa’s first away game will be a trip to Derby County who narrowly missed out on promotion to Division One last year, before a trip to London to West Ham on August 24.
The Derby Games
The Pick of the fixtures for the season includes entertaining West Bromwich Albion on September 28, before hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers at Villa Park on October 26. With the return fixtures in January and April respectively.
