Sky Sports sources have said that Villa, Belgian beast, Christian Benteke is due to stay at Aston Villa for the 2015/16 season despite being heavily linked with Liverpool.
Benteke has a £32.5-million buy-out clause on his contract which Liverpool are not willing to pay according to Sky Sources, he still has 2 years left on his contract at Villa Park with the club doing their best to tie Benteke down to a new deal.
Villa manager, Tim Sherwood when talking about Benteke said, “I think he stays” when talking about his star striker’s future. Also mentioning there is, “nothing” the club can do if a club matches the buy-out clause.
Sherwood went on to say that until the buy-out clause is activated, “he is still an Aston Villa player” and that he was, “very pleased” with that.
With captain and star midfielder Fabian Delph, also staying after sensationally declining a move to Manchester City – Villa will be looking to push on next season with some extra additions.
