Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has joined Liverpool FC for £32.5m, Benteke’s contractual release clause – it has been reported.
Christian Benteke joined Aston Villa in 2012 for £7m, adding a healthy profit to Aston Villa’s balance sheet – and also adding plenty of goals to Aston Villa in a time when Villa needed it most.
The Belgium striker however always seemed to see Aston Villa as a springboard for bigger things, handing in a formal transfer request after his first impressive season under Paul Lambert when interest from bigger teams came in.
But after signing a booster contract with a £32.5m release clause – Benteke was infused to wait for his opportunity to leave the club again while trying to fire on all cylinders for the Villa.
Benteke has played 100 times for Aston Villa and scored 49 times for Aston Villa which is an impressive record for someones first time in the Premier League – and no doubt will do well.
All of us at TVV wish Christian Benteke the best in the future.
