Aston Villa are set to complete the signing of French U21 midfielder Jordan Veretout today, according to Get French Football News.
A fee was agreed between Nantes and Aston Villa last night and the player this morning has been seen leaving Nantes training ground with his belongings.
Veretout has of interest of several Premier League clubs this summer, but it seems that Villa have pipped the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham for his signature.
Veretout has represented France at U21 level 9 times, while also being capped at u20-u19 level, winning the U20 World Cup in 2013.
The Frenchman has played 144 games Nantes in all competitions and scoring 15 goals for Nantes in 4 year senior career.
The signing will be Villa’s 4th signing from Ligue 1 this season after completing deals for highly rated Jordan Amavi, Idrissa Gueye and Jordan Ayew.
Nantes President Waldemar Kita spoke on the transfer ““We are basically agreed on everything. I am obliged to give in, he is 22, he has a big future and he will play for a great English club.”
