Latest Villa signing Jordan Veretout has stated that he is hoping to discover a new league after completing his move to Villa Park earlier today.
The 22-year old playmaker also said that gaffer Tim Sherwood also influenced him to come to The Villans over Leicester City: “He [Tim Sherwood] has a vision that I liked and he has confidence in me. It’s on me to integrate with everyone and play well on the pitch.”
Playing behind a striker or in a deeper midfield role the Frenchman impressed many during his breakout year with Nantes, and is currently on the radar of France manager Didier Deschamps.
However, is keen to put his new club before country in the short term: “I want to focus on Aston Villa first. I have to work to be in the starting XI and have a good season. Anything on top is just a bonus.”
Veretout is Villa’s third French signing this season; joining fellow countrymen Jordan Amavi and Jordan Ayew.
