Venezuelan international Salomon Rondon has been linked with Aston Villa today, with the striker’s career in Russia looking to come to an end with Zenit St. Petersburg hitting financial difficulty and the growing reform on how many foreign players can be registered to play in the Russian Premier League.
Rondon, 25 has had a very impressive career so far – scoring at everywhere he has played with good returns.
He made a name for himself at Malaga under Manuel Pellegrini thanks to his power and pace on the ball, scoring 27 in 72 for the Spanish Club.
After Malaga hit financial trouble he moved to Rubin Kazan where he spent two seasons until money rich Zenit snapped him up up in 2013.
Rondon scored 20 goals in 44 games last season for Zenit but is for sale, attracting the interest of Newcastle, West Ham and Aston Villa.
Villa will have to break wage restrictions for the player, though, as he does come with high wage demands which could see us be stretched when attempting to sign the player.
Rondon has played 39 times for his National side, scoring 13 times.
