Adama Traore has signed for Aston Villa for on a 5 year deal from FC Barcelona for around £7m.
The 19-year-old has played just the once for Barcelona’s first team, coming on as a substitute but impressed playing for Barcelona B.
The deal sees Barcelona having a 3 year buyback period on the player, should they wish to bring him back to Barcelona
Tim Sherwood speaking to avfc.co.uk speaking of the signing said, “He’s physically a man – and he has been for some time. He’s a big powerful boy, very quick, dynamic and a maverick type player.”
Traore has played 63 games for Barcelona B, scoring 8 and assisting 18 while developing with the squad.
Speaking on his arrival to Villa, Traore spoke to avfc.co.uk saying – “It’s an honour for me to come here. It’s a club that showed interest in me from the first moment and made me feel important in terms of their project.”
Adama Traore is Aston Villa’s tenth signing this summer, somewhat of a continental overhaul by Tim Sherwood this season.
