Aston Villa’s versatile, Leandro Bacuna has penned a new five-year deal at Villa Park. The 23-year old joined the Villans in 2013 from Groningen and has developed into a vital figure in the Villa side proving to be heavily versatile.
Bacuna told the club’s official website he was “absolutely thrilled” to sign a new deal at Villa Park. The former-Dutch U21 international went on to say how he was loving life at Villa and he was “really excited” about his future under Tim Sherwood.
“I feel I can really develop here and show my worth to the team and I think there are bright times ahead for us all.”
Despite not being his natural position the former-Groningen man spent the majority of last season at right-back making 18 appearances under Paul Lambert and then Tim Sherwood.
His fondest memory in a Villa shirt so far came when he scored a sweetly struck free-kick in Villa’s 3-2 victory over Manchester City in the 2013/14 season.
