Gary Gardner has signed a new three-year deal at Villa Park.
The 23-year old has had a torrid time with injuries over recent years and is currently out with an ankle injury after a horror tackle in pre-season against Swindon Town.
The former-England youth international spent last season out on loan at Nottingham Forest and Brighton & Hove Albion where he made a thirty-five appearances in total finding the net six times.

Gardner has been at Villa since the age of seven making his senior debut in 2011 in a 3-1 away victory at Stamford Bridge. It was just last summer when Gardner penned a new two-year deal at B6.
The move ends the rumours that the midfielder had been told he could leave the Midlands outfit this summer.
On signing the new deal, Gardner told the club site he was “delighted” going on to describe the club as being “great”.
He spoke about being able to “turn to” manager, Tim Sherwood and that he was “looking forward” to working with him “going forward”.
“I enjoyed my time on loan, but now I’m determined to make an impact this season with Villa and show everyone what I’m capable of.”
