Sherwood: The next two games mean everything

Tim Sherwood has spoken ahead of the club’s back-to-back West Midland derbies with West Brom and Birmingham.

Speaking to the press, Sherwood said “We’ve got two of the biggest football matches this club is ever going to have ahead of us.”

Villa face West Brom at home on Saturday and then host Birmingham in the League Cup third round just three days later. Villa are currently in 15th in the Premier League, a point and place behind rivals West Brom.

He added “The players will know after the West Brom game that the next time they play it will be the most important game they are ever going to play in for this club.”

Sherwood is so far unbeaten in West Midlands derbies since taking over as Villa boss. His side beat West Brom in a back-to-back league and cup encounter back in March.

Tim Sherwood has assured fans that big name players wont be rested for the match on Tuesday night “I certainly won’t be resting players, but whoever is fit prior to that Birmingham game, I will be picking the best team that I think can win the game.”

West Brom have only beaten Villa 3 times in the last 19 matches, spanning across 13 years, with Villa winning 8 of those encounters.
