Tim Sherwood has come out fighting today after suggestions of him feeling the pressure after not winning a Premier League fixture since the start of the season, according to avfc.co.uk.
“I know my job comes with pressure – that’s part and parcel of it. I’ll stand up as manager and the players must stand up as players.” before adding “It’s my job with the group of players we have to make sure we get up the league.”
Tim Sherwood’s Villa side find themselves 18th after a poor run of results during the season, with Villa’s only win coming against Bournemouth.
Villa also found themselves losing a 2 goal lead against Leicester City in previous weeks to lose 3-2, which has sparked speculation of Sherwood underperforming as manager.
“it’s to early to put us in a relegation battle. It’s not what we wanted for the return of the points. We’re a young group, a new group. I’m confident we’ll be okay.” Sherwood added speaking in his press conference today.
Aston Villa line up against Stoke City at 3pm on Saturday who have struggled themselves this season.
